Tinkerlab allows students to dive in and explore the way things work. Tinkering is about hands-on experiences, learning from failures, and unstructured time to explore and invent. Through the processes of exploration and invention lies the potential for innovation. Students will explore materials, take things apart, and imagine new possibilities through the process of invention

innovative problem solving, persistence, resourcefulness, self-succificiency, and tenacity.

Dubbed the 'Messy Club', Sensory Studio aims to provide students with the ability to create, explore, and dive into various sensory experiences. Explore slime, color mixing, glue, clay, magnetism, sound and more! Each week there is a varied selection of sensory-rich, art-themed projects. This is a process-based class, with a focus on open-ended activities. Please come prepared to get messy!

Our process art lab is the epitome of child-led experiences! Process Art is art that is child-directed, choice-driven, and celebrates the experience of discovery. In our process art lab, the final product is always unique and the focus lies in the creation of the work, not the outcome. Students will create innovative individual and collaborative masterpieces through the use of design thinking.

Junior Makers is an introduction to coding, robotics, and reverse engineering. This class builds on the fundamentals of tinkering and making, while also emphasizing the hard skills of coding and robotics through hands-on lessons and projects. The makers in this class will learn the design thinking process and dive into activities like computer deconstruction, toy take apart, circuitry, and bot building. This class ends with a culminating project. Technologies used: Scratch, Sphero, MaKey MaKey

Students will learn character creation, storyboarding, and plot development through the design thinking process. During this class, students will create an story and animated movie project surrounding a need in the community. The mediums of LEGOS, clay, and paper will provide the basis for creation. Through the use of green screen technology, lighting, animation applications, and sound overlays, the students will have a unique product which addresses the community need.
